Online valuations / optional inspections

Share the details.
Understand the value.

A restored or unusual classic can be difficult to explain through a registration number alone.

Most insurance valuations can be prepared online from clear photographs, vehicle details and supporting records. Nick considers the specification, condition, history and work completed alongside relevant market evidence. If your insurer requires a visit, or the available evidence needs a closer look, we can arrange an in-person inspection anywhere in the UK.

Before we begin, send the insurer's requirements. We agree the report scope around the evidence they need, including any required valuation basis, date or format. The insurer decides whether to accept the report and offer agreed value cover.

The written report

The car. The evidence. The opinion.

  • Identity &
    specification.

Identifying details, model, engine and relevant equipment, supported by the photographs and records made available.

  • Condition &
    photographs.

An assessment of the condition shown in your photographs and records, supplemented by an inspection when agreed.

  • History &
    changes.

Restoration, originality and modifications that affect the car's position in the market.

  • Value &
    reasoning.

The assessed value at the agreed date, with relevant market evidence and an explanation of the conclusion.

Cars that need context

Restored.
Modified.
Imported.

The closer you look, the more individual a classic becomes.

A restored classic Porsche, a Lamborghini with an unusual specification or a modified Land Rover Defender may have few directly comparable sales. The specification and standard of the work matter alongside the model's wider appeal.

How it works

A clear next step.

  1. Share the requirements.

Tell us about the car and your insurer's requirements. We agree the scope, fee and timetable, and confirm whether an online valuation is suitable.

  2. Send the evidence.

Send clear photographs and available history, invoices and vehicle details. If a visit is required, we arrange an inspection at the vehicle's location anywhere in the UK.

  3. Receive your report.

Nick reviews the market evidence and prepares a written valuation. You can then share it with your insurer and discuss the proposed agreed value.

Online expertise.
UK-wide visits.

Our online service is available to owners across the UK. Most enquiries begin with the evidence you can send us, so there is usually no need to bring the car to Bournemouth.

For an in-person valuation, we travel UK-wide. Inspection arrangements and travel costs are confirmed in advance. If your policy renewal is approaching, include the date in your enquiry.

Insurance valuation enquiry

Start with the details.

Fee agreed before we begin. Most valuations are prepared online. Tell us about the car, the purpose and your deadline. We will confirm the evidence required, scope, fee and timetable. If an inspection is needed, we travel UK-wide and agree any travel costs in advance.

A few useful answers

Before we begin.

Will my insurer accept the valuation?

Check their requirements before booking. We can agree the report scope around those requirements, but acceptance and the insurance terms remain the insurer's decision.

Can the valuation be completed online?

Most of our valuations are completed online using photographs and supporting records. Send your insurer's requirements first. If a visit is necessary, an in-person valuation inspection can be arranged UK-wide.

How much does a valuation cost?

The fee depends on the scope and whether an inspection is needed. Send the vehicle details and purpose so we can confirm the fee, including any travel costs, before you commit.

How quickly will I receive the report?

We confirm the timetable when agreeing the work. If a policy renewal or other deadline is approaching, tell us before booking so availability can be checked.
